Konjac Cold Noodle

Category: food, home

Remember the Konjac Noodle I tasted at Bangkok, Kobune Restaurant?
Bangkok2007: Kobune Japanese Restaurant

Here is my poor attempt. You can get these packs of Konjac from Japanese supermarket like Meiya-da

You will also need Goma (Sesame) Sauce. (Meiya=da)

To make my dressing, I add the Goma sauce & some sesame oil for that added aroma. Add 1~2 spoonful of water iif you prefer to dilute it.

To prepare Konjac Noodle, drain the water from the package. Put Konjac noodle into hot water, stir briskly & drain. If you like it cold, you may cool it with ice or in the fridge for a while. Add the Konjac noodle over the dressing above. Sprinkle with some toasted white sesame seeds. Of coz you could add more ingredients if you wish like shredded crab sticks, salad greens etc

Simple, quick & healthy food since Konjac noodle packs lots of fibres! For those who are interested, Konjac is also known as konnyaku (蒟蒻) and it’s made starchy corm of Amorphophallus konjac (Devil’s Tongue)

p.s: Goma Sauces are great as dippings for steamed/boiled broccoli too, another favorite of mine!
