Mushroom Park

Category: food, home

I’ve long been interested in Mushroom (only edible ones please), from common shitake to expensive truffles. In fact, I’m still on the lookout for opportunities in Guided Wild Mushroom hunting trips. I think Melbourne should have some, in fact there are folks doing truffle farming! Unfortunately, you can’t visit those farms unless you have some good / special connections hmmm … Maybe I go look around Japan as well ;P

Anyway, when my good friend told me about a Taiwan Mushroom Restaurant in Singapore, I immediately plan a visit within the week even though I was warned about their high prices. Well, fresh mushrooms are expensive anyway, besides I think it’s alright for once a while indulgence, not to mention mushrooms are really healthy food.

WHERE?
Mushroom Park

87 Serangoon Garden Way, Singapore 555983 TEL: +65.62817600

Yup! Serangonn Gardens, that’s where the Famous Chomp Chomp Food Center is located. The restaurant is spacious, clean when fusion of chinese & zen design. They do have a outdoor dining area. And we with their name, they serves mushrooms, all sort of mushroom freshly imported from Taiwan.

They serves set meals for both Lunch & Dinner, though you can order ala carte as well. All meals comes with Chafing Dish with Special made mushroom soup. Their menu includes slices meat of strip loin, pork for those who are not comfortable at the all meatless meal.

Passionate Passiflora

Category: food, life, home

I fondly remembered those fun times we had as kids. We like to roam around “wildly” catching spiders, picking wild edible fruits (ok, admittedly, we would sometimes “steal” fruits from neighbors but eventually got chased by dogs & rattan sticks hahahaha …)

One of these fruits comes with beautiful flowers like this, they grown abundantly in the wild. We used to called these “bird rice” since (I think) the birds like to eat them. Anyway, all these local terms were learn by word of mouth. Of course, I know now these are called Passiflora foetida belonging to family Passifloraceae

Yummie Snacks from HK

Category: food, hong kong

Whenever I’m waiting at the airport, I’m usually found browsing around their Alcoholic or department. Bookstores. I seldom buy snacks in the airport asI they were usually too uninteresting for me

Recently, my brother came back from HK with these small packs of morsels by Aji Ichiban. Guess what, these are Isoyaki Duck Tongue & Kidney!!! And they taste really good (at least for me)!

Here’s a look at the Isoyaki Duck Tongue

Oct2007 My Desktop

Category: life, home

Hmmm … everybody seems to be showcasing their desktop nowadays. I like being simple, hence usually it’s a pitch darkness on the background *LOLz* Anyway, just for fun, I thought I decorate them with something.

===+ACCESSORIES ADDED +===
TOP-CENTER - Coolz Mac-like menu called RKLauncher, it’s FREE (at least now). You can get it HERE.
RIGHT: Yahoo Widgets with Weather, Clock & Stocks. Plenty of other widgets to download for free. It eats up some memory, hence IMHO it’s better if you at least 1Gb installed. But do give a try too, you may work for you! Download HERE.
WALLPAPER: Closeup of Passiflora coccinea , and you can ONLY get this from me LOLz
Anyway, was planning for a post only on Passiflora, but seems like couldn’t make it today. So stay tuned ;)

Oct2007 Masthead up!

Category: travel, life, malaysia

Oct2007 Masthead up and it’s obvious where I’ve been to - Genting Highlands @ Malaysia. Usual choice will be Awana Genting Highlands Golf & Country Resort. I prefer the more peaceful country resort away from the noisy wonderland & casino at the top. But since it’s mostly gambling plans this time *LOLZ*, staying at the top, near the casino, seems a much better choice.

Its my first stay at First World Hotel, 3 star, nothing to shout of. But you got TV, okay bed & clean room. A little more money will get you window with a better view. But I can’t be too bother since I’m seldom in the room except when working / thinking on gambling strategies *LOLz*

Masthead which shows the sea of clouds in the morning may looks bit gloomy, but I just love the tranquil look & *sing* “Feels like Heaven” atmosphere ;P
