While one can shop in modern shopping centre or supermarkets in kuching, soaking in cool comfort, looking around at similar looking modern packing, imported products etc; you really missing out alot of the more colorful , unique & fascinating stuffs you can experience at the local street market.

So when in Kuching during the weekends, you simply can’t afford to miss Satok Weekend Market. @ Jalan Satok. For many years, Satok market have been the best place to buy all assortment of local products, food & jungle produces. Not only that, you would probably see many of Sarawak Ethnic groups people doing their business here.

Well, some tourists brochure indicates Satok Sunday Market, don’t be misled. Satok Markets open from Sat 2pm till Sun noon around the clock (Weather permitting of course). It’s a short taxi ride from Kuching Waterfront, of course you can choose to walk like me. I happen to return from Gunung Gading and have a pleasant walk (under scorching heat, do remember to bring sunblock if you walk ok? LOLz) bus station to Satok Market, enjoying nice local food along the way.

When I was there, all tables & chairs were already been setup by the local hawkers. But let walk around first …..
