Moving from Beppu -> Mojiko

Category: travel, japan

OK, I cut short my Beppu posts. I did went down furthur to Oita to visit a cape, Beppu Dance Festival along with local farm products & Onsens. Perhaps later when I have more time, but in meantime let’s move on the Mojiko

Starting in the morning, the drive was pretty easy & relaxing. I actually wanted to visit the sea park where one can view & feed the Ocean sunfish (mola mola). Unfortunately, it about 3~4hr drive down south, opposite direction to which I’m heading next. With a tingle feeling of regret, I drove on North to Mojiko.

Gosh! I worked on Monday ~ Tuesday (both public holidays), all the way till friday. What CNY (Chinese New Year) Holiday? None, I need to support non-celebrating countries hur hur hur.

“Hey, at least you needn’t face those “when-u-get-married etc” kind of pesky questions from relatives & friends right?” said one friend.

OMGz *Enlightenment!* wow, that made my day, at least I felt way much better after that hahahahaha …

Robata means “cooking by the fireside” - Northern Japanese century old traditional country cooking. To me, they are basically grilling / BBQ over open fire. Incidentally, they also servee fugu sashimi, one of the MUST-TRYS when I’m in Kyushu.

Happy belated Valentine Day!!! Well, frankly I don’t think much of this “special” day. In fact, I always thought everyday can be Valentine Day, if you really wanted. So I don’t really understand the real significance of this lovers’ day.

Interestingly, Japan & Korea celebrated Valentine Day in a slightly different manner. Valentine Day (14 Feb) is for the gals to present gifts (usually chocolates or cake baked personally by girls) to the guys. Exactly a month later (i.e 14 Mar) , the white day, it’s the guys turn to reciprocate with gifts to girls in return. Well, was that yet another even greater marketing effort hmmmmm …..anyway, let me put an end to my helltour before I take a Lunar New Year Break!

Yama Jigoku - This hell features small ponds of steaming hot water and a small zoo.

How many more days before Chinese Lunar New Year? 6 DAYS!!! And yet, there are still numerous stuffs to fix, like changing the water tap? hahaha … serious, this gotta be my first time in my whole life changing the water tap. It look easy anyway, just stupid me buying the tap, and then realize I can’t find a single freaking spanner around the house. OK, I finally bought an adjustable spanner today Oh, then I realize the car toolkit might already have one. hahahaha … what a failure!

Besides that, I haven’t even got the time shop for new clothings, guess I make do with existing ones first, they look new anyway. Probably the only completed tasks were reshuffling of stuffs & furnitures around the house. hehehehe … at least something accomplished :) Anyway, let go to next hell, OMG, no wonder my life still in HELL *LOLZ*

Shiraike Jigoku (White Pond Hell) - This hell features milk bluish water. They also have got some tropical fishes displayed.
