Daily Cheap Meals

Category: food, home

Singapore is a “terribly expensive” place to stay. The cost of living is really high, food are expensive. Oh yeah, I heard that so often. So what do common Singaporean like me eat daily to keep cost down?

BREAKFAST (Noodle + sides: $1.50; Kopi-O Kosong: $0.50; TOTAL: $2.00)

Basic fried noodle. Washed down with cup of kopi-O kosong (Black Coffee without sugar), essential morning drink for caffeine addicts like me :)

Sides like fried egg & crispy bean curd skins

LUNCH (TOTAL: $3.50)
For lunch, I like to indulge a little more. Nasi Padang with black squid, french beans & Chillied Fish ball; Drink? Go back office to drink hahaha…

DINNER (TOTAL: $2.00)
I tend to eat less during dinner especially when late. So it’s only 2 packets of Nasi Lemak @ $1 each. I especially like the ones that are packed in Banana leaves. The trapped aromas were release once you open the packet. Inhale, inhale deeply ….. it’s heavenly

Just mixed up with ikan bilis chilli & eat. It comes with miserable small piece of egg as well as fried fish (kunning or selar?). But the coconut rice is frangrant (especially when wrapped up in banana leaves) and it fills your tummy reasonable. And drink? Go home and drink lah! hahahaha ….

TOTAL DAMAGE FOR THE DAY = $7.50
hmmm … not too bad :)
