D1 GP Professional Drift (Videoclip)

Category: life, music

Work & life have been “fast & furious” of late. It’s so busy that I don’t even know what the latest movie in town. So is “The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift” is finally out? Anyone?

Anyone who watch racing movies probably not after world-class acting nor brillant storyline. Exotic modded cars, pure adrenaline, high octane racing, loud music & gorgeous babe in tight & ultra short fitting skirts. The same formula works time after time, providing sensory overload to all car racing aficionados.

I haven’t been watching “fast & furious”. They are mostly trash to me, high torquey cars, turbos, supercharger, NOS, running or flying crazily all over the places. They made these cars look like its so bloody easy to control, which is very very misleading. However, “Drifting” catches my attention this time.

From the land of rising sun (Japan), “Drifting” or driving sideway was popularized probably by Keiichi Tsuchiya (土屋圭市) aka the Drift King & InitialD (頭文字〈イニシャル〉D) Anime. It’s driving techniques which forces the rear wheels to lose traction while using the front wheels to maintain the direction of the car. While they may not be the fastest way to tackle every corners or turns, they do looks real nice & cool when properly executed.

Anyways, I ALWAYS don’t like nor support illegal street racing of any sorts out in the street. Do it on the tracks or participate in proper racing events. Not only you are doing yourself a good favor, you are keeping our streets safer for the public. Perhaps just for this week, instead of MV (Music Video) let’s watch professional drifting for a change. NDrifter youtubed a nice compilation of D1 Grand Prix Professional Drifting events for Japan, US, UK. Please enjoy!!!

NOTES:
Somehow my interests in motorsports seems to be contradicting to the other interest of mine: Nature. As you know, motorsports are not only noisy, they are polluting the environment as well as wasting earth natural resources. But since I’m in no position to stop others from racing, might as well I enjoy it then! :D

Cars are terribly expensive in Singapore. My dear dear scooter can probably travel 300km on just mere S$15 of petrol, I’m VERY happy with this. But if I were to named my dream car irregardless of price, I would love to pick something of more practical use like this. Very old fashion right? hehehehe ……
