Masthead Aug2006 - Jalan Batu
Category: life, photo, homeSeems like I’m extra diligent around our National Day. And yeah, I learned that its called masthead and not banner LOLz
Frankly, I have already considered a few photos for Aug 2006. I was trying to find something that could reflect the mood of our National Day Celebration. And that’s how I ended on the following initial design.

However, while processing my photos, I found a even more suitable photo. Not only it has a good view of old HDB flats at Jalan Batu, it even have the view of people, patiently waiting along the Geyland River bank for the NDP firework displays!

Jalan Batu is just a stone throw from our National Stadium. While I have been to National Stadium many time, this is the first time I’m stepping onto the grounds of Jalan Batu Estate. There are many tall palms which looks like fishtail palms to me.

And while most of the flats would have beenupgraded by now, I still find nostalgic old flats design which are seldom seen nowadays.

As with all upgraded estate, they would have its children playground totally revamped. Made of child-safe materials & design with cushioning mats to protects children from falls.

Even though they are the ultra modern playground, some children STILL prefers to “play” around with the more exciting “traditional” playgrounds. hahahaha …

I looked up the skies, it sure looks like a beautiful evening approaching.

I quickly gobble down an ugly but tasty plate of wine braised duck with yam rice. Only $3 with extras like braised tofu & preserved vegetables called Mui Choy (Cantonese). Finishing off with a refreshing sugar cane drink @ $1. Wonderfully simple & inexpensive meal before I proceed to wait for my eye candy treats!

More coming ……. And have a beautiful day ahead!
