SFF2006 Round2 - Team Singapore

Category: photo, home

8th Aug 2006 @ 8pm (Eve of our National Day). I was a little worried if I can make it to Round2 of fireworks - Team Singapore @ 9pm. Started by trusty old scooter and began to scoot scoot thru our (usual) “Amazing” Holiday Eve traffic along the highway.

After parking my dear scoot scoot, noting there was no time to waste, I began walking briskly towards the Marina Bay area. Having to lug along a 2kg tripod with camera bags & accessories isn’t something to trifle of. I was panting heavily when I decide to plant myself along Queen Elizabeth Walk. Needless to say, all the good poistions have been taken up, so I just have to setup my equipment behind a plant hedge.

A quick view of our CBD (Central Business District) before the fireworks battle.

8th Aug 2006 - Team Singapore
Quote from the Press Release

Lead by Mr. Hery Ng, Team Singapore will present on 8th August to the theme “Colours and Festive”, centered on our unique multi-racial harmony ties and the National Day Parade festive celebrations.

*Drum rolls* Presenting some selected shots from the Team Singapore Fireworks with “Colours and Festive” theme.

A multi-facet beginning

Interesting lantern-like fireworks

Another lantern-like fireworks, giving out red star dust particles.

Golden palm trees, star burst. Truely glamorous & not to mention auspicious as well!!!

And finally a grand finale ……

As I look at the Marina Bay area, the night seems sure looks young. Unfortunately, I do look like a hanger for photographic stufss instead of party-goer hahahaha … was too tired to carry on anyway. But it was a wonderful & cool night!

THREE more fireworks to go, sure hope I can make it to all. YAY!
HAPPY 41st BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE

SFF2006 Round1 - Team Italy

I’m very afraid to say that there will be many many fireworks photos coming to this blog soon. Sooooooooooooooo … just get use to it ok. These are “candies” for your eyes :)

5th August 2006. Team Italy debute the festival with their “Italian Forever” theme.
Quote from Press Release

Team Italy will debut at the festival on 5th August. Lead by choreographer Mr. Francesco Ambrico, their theme will be “Italian Forever”, showcasing a loud, dynamic and passionate display. President Nathan will grace the event on this day.

Not wanting to squeeze with the crowds at Espandale & Marina Square area, we have position ourselves at Padang. Very relaxing & breezing location with reasonable views of high level fireworks, but we will missed all the low & some mid level ones due to blockage from the trees.

Anyway, it was a pretty bad start for me. In the first place, I had setup to point my camera in the wrong direction. And while trying to shift & setup in new direction, I had left joints, legs (of tripod of coz hahahaha…) tighten improperly. My timing were completely out-of-sync with fireworks …. oh well here *shrugged*, here are some shots which I attempt to salvage & crop. Rarely I need to crop my shots & it’s little oversharpen here as well :(

The beginning …..

These are very interesting color changing fireworks. They begin like the one on the sides and then changed to multi-colored ones in centre.

And these looks like palm trees, doesn’t they? :)

Being one of my favourite colors, I enjoyed these blue fireworks

You know the end is approaching when fireworks starts getting hotter & “messy”

And finally cooling down with last specks of star dust, which looks like star trails when I pull the exposure a little longer.

Hope you enjoyed them!
