NDP 2006 Preview Fireworks

Category: Uncategorized

It’s Singapore NDP (National Day Parade) Preview day. Yes, preview of NDP performance for the audience and final round of practice for the participants. While, sadly, I do not have the tickets, I still can hope to catch a glimpse of the firework displays from outside. And this year is particularily memorable because this will be the last time NDP will be held at our National Stadium.

An early heavy downpour nearly blew all our hopes for this preview. Fortunately, heaven is defintely on our side. The weather make a turnaround for better late in the afternoon. With cool gentle winds caressing us, beautiful blue skies & fluffy clouds providing us with much visual delights. An excellent prelude to our upcoming eye candy treats.

We have the usual, flag fly pass, canon salute, fighter planes, our new apache attack heli. While we are expecting the fireworks to be around 8pm, an short round of displays comes out of sudden for us. I missed the last bit (as my shutter was already closing) :( . Fortunately, my friend managed to get a good shot. :)

And when 8pm stikes, all photog goes silent, patiently waiting for the arrival of our eye candies. As the fireworks kicks off, all photog starts getting busy … These are actually fireworks sweeping around the circumference of the stadium.

A mixed bags of Low & Mid level fireworks.

And finally burst of star dust, when exposed on a little longer gives the effect of light sprays.

While these shots are generally satisfactory, I do hope of obtain better shots the next round. And I have 5 more opportunities to do just that (1 NDP actual + 4 Singapore Fireworks Festival) in August 2006. Certainly, if time permits, I surely would love to attend every each one of the firework displays! But I know that won’t happen. Anyways, WISH ME GOOD LUCK!!! :)
